California Farm Celebrates 150 Years By Going Solar

Celebrating 150 years in business, Franscioni & Griva Corp., a family-owned/operated farm and vineyard on the central coast of California, is partnering with REC Solar, a Duke Energy-owned company, for a 432 kW solar project.

Once completed, the fixed-tilt solar array, located in Greenfield, will provide the energy equivalent to powering 79 homes.

“We are honored that Franscioni & Griva Corp. chose REC Solar to partner on their first solar project,” says Matt Walz, CEO of REC Solar. “Franscioni & Griva is celebrating their 150th anniversary by demonstrating their commitment to innovation in sustainable practices for years to come.”

“REC Solar’s tailored portfolio offerings and services helped us seamlessly transition to solar energy,” adds Michael Griva, president of Franscioni & Griva Corp. “With sustainability and clean practices becoming increasingly important, this solar farm has helped catapult our company into the future.”
