Solar Source, a residential and commercial solar contractor based in Largo, Fla., is acquiring solar contractor Superior Solar Systems.
The acquisition essentially doubles the volume and capacity of Solar Source, which was founded in 1984. Notably, the acquisition allows Solar Source to expand its footprint beyond Tampa Bay to include all of central Florida.
Under the agreement, Superior Solar will adopt Solar Source’s name and retain all of its employees and office space, located in Altamonte Springs, Fla. The transition is expected to be complete in January 2019.
The immediate addition of the staff from Orlando enables Solar Source to deploy more resources toward further expansion opportunities, the company says.
“There’s a natural fit between the two companies and the management group that’s been assembled,” comments Richard Smith, president of Superior Solar. “Our team is excited to continue to grow with Solar Source.”
Recently completed Solar Source projects include solar carports at LEGOLAND Florida, a solar parking canopy on top of the Tampa Airport parking garage and a rooftop array at the University of South Florida.
