The U.S. Department of the Interior’s Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has completed a draft environmental assessment (EA) and is seeking public comments on the proposed Tungsten Mountain Solar Project.
Ormat is proposing to construct, operate and maintain the Tungsten Mountain Solar Project in Churchill County, Nev., on public lands managed by the BLM. Producing renewable energy to serve the Tungsten Mountain Geothermal Energy Facility, the project would comprise two 9 MW phases on 130 total acres of land.
The draft EA analyzes the proposal by Ormat and potential impacts from the proposed development of the project. The BLM is also seeking public comments and input under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. This includes looking for information and identifying historic properties in or near the project area.
Public comments will be accepted through Dec. 14. More information can be found here.
